    Edward Evans

    Vice Principal

    Harris Academy Falconwood

“I have worked closely with David Coker and Martin Finegan From Ethos Consultancy for 5 years training and running Peer Mentor programmes in two of the Harris academies in South London. David and Martin have also run similar programmes in two other Harris Academies. Martin and David are both professional and committed to the work that they do. They are reliable and work diligently with students both as outstanding role models and as coaches, helping the students to reflect on their own conduct and progress in order to secure change. This has had a massive impact on memorable individuals who have used the experience of the Peer Mentoring programme as a lever to bring out major changes and improvements in behaviour, attitude to learning, attendance, relationships and learning outcomes. Martin and David are each able to establish and easy rapport with students and are able to relate their experiences. They do this while establishing and reinforcing clear expectations during training sessions which are respected by students.

Both Martin and David have also spoken several times at our Celebration of Achievement Evenings where their inspirational performances have been well received by both students and parents.”

    Programme Manager

    Acton College

“I have worked with the amazing team of Ethos that is David Coker and Martin Finegan for approximately three years at Ealing Hammersmith & West London College. I initially employed the team to deliver workshops to our Aim Higher Cohorts within the College who were aiming for University entrance. The success of this led me to ask them to work with our NEET learners who were not engaging within education, employment or training. They designed and delivered workshops for our NEET learners during a summer programme. Their ability to relate and inspire disengaged learners to take up further progression opportunities resulted in word spreading like wild fire within the organization, they later become regular staff members, working not only with NEET learners but with students on main stream courses. They are outstanding teachers and in late May 2009 both ran our Fast Track programme at Acton site delivering a City & Guilds Certificate in Employability and Personal Development. Our learners achieved and the programme achieved a 99% pass rate with the cohort of learners!

David and Martin’s professionalism, positive attitude and engaging manner is reflected in everything they do. They are role models to both staff and learners and Martin continues to lead on a new Step Up programme for 16-18 year old NEET learners whilst David has been taken on to work on a Prince’s Trust XL Programme designed to work with 14 -16 year olds.

They recently designed and delivered inset training on Conflict Management to Princes Trust Team leaders and E2e Lecturers/Tutors. It was an excellent training day with positive feedback from all the team who have expressed the desire for more training courses led by David and Martin. They are both an inspiration and I highly recommend them.
